Hololens: developing AR applications with Computer Vision abilities.

Jean-Marc Vezien got a PhD in INRIA in 1995 in the field of Computer Vision and Augmented Reality. After a post-doctoral position in the GRASP Laboratory, he joined INRIA again until 2001. He has since been a research engineer at CNRS in the LIMSI laboratory. His current field of research is Virtual and Augmented reality, with applications in Virtual assembly and telepresence. 


The advent of new, powerful Augmented Reality (AR) devices makes it possible to truly envision fully functional applications in the coming years. In this tutorial, I will present how to develop applications for the Microsoft Hololens AR see-through device, and in particular how to bind them with Computer Vision applications. This is especially useful when the visual environment of the user contains elements which require external information for their analysis (foreign language, unidentified people, unknown user interface).

Afternoon session: developing for the hololens: the Unity environment. Special 3D objects for AR applications. Deployment of AR apps on the Hololens. Computer Vision plug-ins. Examples.
